A 19TH CENTURY CHINESE EXPORT BLACK LACQUERED TEA CADDY, of octagonal form, with white metal interior. The exterior is highly decorated with gilt painted figural scenes, as well as dragon painted panel to cover. With brass diamond shaped escutcheon. Hinged cover opens to fitted interior with engraved lift-out white metal canisters, with double circular covers, one with bone handle. Please note feet & key not present & wear commensurate with age. Dimensions: 23.5cm wide x 18cm deep x 13cm high approx.
